About Roll The Dice RunThe Roll the Dice Run is an annual rally held in Warwick. Riders can camp at the grounds from Friday with the run taking place on Saturday. Upon arrival riders register for the ride and roll the dice for the first time. Three dice are rolled with the score recorded. If a triple is rolled the score is tripled, eg: three 3’s scores 27. The main ride then departs at 10.30 am on Saturday for a trip around the local area. There will be two stops during the ride at which everyone rolls the dice again. Upon arrival back at the show grounds everyone rolls the dice for the last time. All scores are added up with the highest total winning $1000.00 cash. There are many other prizes handed out with highest and lowest at each stop and lowest overall scores, hard luck story etc. Misty's TestimonialThere was a long weekend coming up and I saw this ad from El Presidento about the above Run in our mag. No-one seemed to be going and no-one seemed to know much about it. So the only one I could muscle together for a good time was good faithful Moose. OrganisersFounded in 1905, Rotary is the world’s first service organization. Belonging to a Rotary club gives men and women an organized outlet for contributing to their community. The Rotary motto is “Service Above Self”- Rotary concerns itself with truth, fairness, improved relations between people and world peace. The avenues of Rotary service include community and international volunteerism through club activity and the promotion of ethics in all vocations. ProceedsAll money that is raised over the weekend goes to local charities. The main beneficiary from the 2010 event will be the Oaks Aged Care Facility in Warwick. The Rotary club of Warwick will also continuing our support of the Domestic Violence Women’s Shelter that was made possible after the success of the 2009 event. Other local schools and community groups will also benefit from the 2010 rally. |
